maillot please

Happy Thursday lovelies!  So happy to be home to start the weekend!  Just cooked dinner for the hubs and we have an entirely thrilling night planned.  Cleaning, cleaning, cleaning until The Office comes on. Goodbye, Michael Scott.  Oh my goodness, I know I'll be crying!

I ordered 4 bathing suits from Anthro prior to the honeymoon.  Was dying for a one piece this year.  Two stayed with me and made the cut.  The Elephant Ears Maillot and the Sea Anemone Maillot.  Both were incredible!

Mine and hubby's fav was the Elephant Maillot.  I honestly ordered this on a whim.  Loved the idea of it, but hated it on the model online!  The ruffle piece cut so short on her and made her look frumpy and short!  SO not the look I was going for.  Decided to try regardless, and THANK GOODNESS!  It appears so much different in person than on the model.  Longer ruffles, perfect moss color, utter perfection for a one piece.

The Sea Anemone was a favorite too, and I just couldn't bear to part with it.  So, it was a keeper too!  It looks SO retro.  Love, love, love.

What do you ladies think?  Ever ordered a suit from Anthro?  Pricey, I know.  But for the amount of use I'll be getting out of them... well worth the extra cash.

Happy weekend ladies!

the ban is officially over

Hello my lovely ladies.  Hope everyone is having a wonderful week so far!  Friday is my day off, so I am desperately looking forward to tomorrow.... my Friday!

In the weeks/months leading up to the wedding, I embarked on a self imposed shopping ban.  I didn't make a trip into Anthro (or any other store for that matter) for weeks and weeks, knowing if I went 'looking' it was all over.  I did make the exception for a couple necessities for the honeymoon.  I bought two new Anthro bathing suits (which are AMAZING...reviews to come) and a full price maxi, insisted upon by the husband.  In his words "we're only having one honeymoon and you know you deserve it!" Yes, dear!  I'll follow that advice :)

After a couple very long months of staying out of the store, staying off the website, and avoiding all blog posts  revealing new sale items, I am SO happy this so-called 'shopping ban' is officially over.

I spent yesterday morning on the website.  Made some calls.  Found some highly coveted items.  Made a trip with hubs to Anthro last night.  Bought a full-priced outfit I couldn't resist.

And guess what?  I can't wait to mix up some new spring/summer clothes.

Have you let yourself splurge at all this season?  Or have you all been good little savers?

xoxo,
K

Look out Mompos....

The Mompos Dress is making the rounds as the possible favorite of the season.  But, like always, get ready for this dress to disappear quickly!  For those of you that aren't Gleeks (those that love 'Glee'), there is a massive amount of beautiful Anthro items displayed weekly.  Dianna Agron, playing Quinn, is dressed in at least one Anthropologie dress a week.  Even if you're not up for the music or the comedy, it's worth watching just to see some of your favorite apparel on the big screen!

Anywhooo... just saw a sneak peak picture on Gleehab.com, and guess what Ms. Agron will be wearing?! The highly coveted Mompos of course.  Get ready for this dress to sell, and sell quickly.

free perks

Our resort was fantastic for a number of reasons, but one of the best things was all the 'honeymoon' perks.  A ton of other resorts we looked at offered the special Honeymoon Packages... inclusive of special dinner, champagne on arrival, and so on and so on.  Sounds great, no?  Yes! However, all these resorts would charge something close to an extra thousand dollars a week!  YES, I said $1K. Ca-raziness.  Hunny and I decided we did NOT need to spend extra money for people to remind us that we were on our honeymoon.  We were fairly certain we'd remember.  Here's hoping, no?

Anyway, much to our surprise, we were notified of many honeymoon-related perks, already included.  'Honeymooners' door banner sweetly awaiting us on our door.  Rose petals all over the room.  Iced champagne next to the bed with fresh fruit.  Breakfast in bed to be set up any day we chose.  And a Honeymooners dinner in the restaurant of our choosing.  Special seats on the water, specialized menu, and a gorgeous table display.  LOVE!

So... here's pics from our special honeymooners dinner night.  I'm not one for re-wearing dresses for occasions when I can help it.  I decided ahead of time that this trip would be the exception.  Bought this dress for a girlfriend's wedding last spring.  Loved the dress entirely too much not to wear again for something special!!

Oh hey, husband.

And here, documented for you all, is the face I make when ever so sweetly reminding my hubs that "you're stuck with me forever...see??"

Happy almost weekend!

Oooh La La

I think this was my very first sale purchase at Anthropologie early last year.  At the time, I wasn't sure I loved it.  Yet, for $29.99 I knew I wasn't passing it up.  Thank goodness I did, as I've gotten so much wear out of it!  The perfect little number for wanting to feel dressed up, but not overdressed.

**Please excuse some of the shadows in my pics! Hubby and I had a hard time finding light in our room!

Dress: Anthro Blooming Sapphire Wrap Dress
Shoes: Seychelles

These Seychelles shoes are one of my favorite buys this year.  Hubs got them for me on Gilt (if you're not a member of this site or Rue La La, shame on youuu!)  I wore either these or the wedges every night and couldn't believe I only got by with packing two pairs of real shoes!!

(If any of you ladies would like an invite to Rue La La... leave your email!  I believe if I invite you, you get a $20 credit on your first order :)

Cheers!

Part Deux... think pretty

Not going to lie.  I saw this dress on Katy a few weeks ago.  If  you have not yet been to her blog, your world is about to be rocked.  She is hilarious and she is my blog crush.  For reals.  Don't worry. Hubs isn't jealous.  I catch him "lol'ing" as I read him some of her posts.

When I saw the Tucker for Target dress on her blog, I was in love.  I know how popular these dresses are (why? Because they're gorgeous and CHEAP!), so I figured there was no way I'd be finding one in my size.  A few days later I was out running errands with my mama, and BAM.  Spotted. In my size. Are you SERIOUS?! Well needless to say there was no way I was leaving without that dress.  Big thanks to my mom for contributing to my honeymoon wardrobe!!

sunny recap

So excited to finally be back and share with all you lovely ladies!  My husband and I (ahh he's my hubby now!) travelled to the Dominican Republic for our honeymoon for 8 amazing days.  We stayed at the Excellence Resort in Punta Cana.  Pure gorgeousness.  Not a drop of rain the entire time... is that even possible?! Just warm sun, beautiful beach, amazing resort, and lots and lots of love.

Couldn't wait to get there and wear the outfits I had planned for our evenings out to dinner and shows!  The resort has 9 incredible restaurants, and pretty great entertainment! Needless to say, we ate A LOT... and I got to feel pretty doing it.  In all my favorite dresses :)

I'll recap an outfit or two a day!

Night one:
While in the Dominican, we decided to eat Mexican food the first night!  Bought this little number off the EA trade market months and months and months ago.  Can't believe I was actually able to save it!

Dress: Anthro
Necklace: Anthro
Cardigan: J Crew Jackie Cardigan
Shoes: SE Boutique wedges (DSW)

 We played giant chess...
