big things happening

Hey ladies!  Hope you all have had a wonderful week.

Finally ready to share some big news we've been sitting on.  As you know, I've lived here in the DC area for almost 3 and a half years.  Bought my first condo on my own, and learned what it meant to work for a living, and give your all every day.  Met the sweet man I was meant to marry while I was on a rotation down in Norfolk for 3 months.  I swear we could have seen our future in that first conversation we ever had.  I came back to DC to work, and Mark followed.  He got a job in the city, moved in to my sweet condo, and proposed a month later.  This condo was so important for us, in so many ways.  It was where we first lived together, where we shared our love and excitement on our engagement.  Where we learned to support eachother and our little family of puppies and kitten.  Where we spent endless nights wedding planning with my family and friends.  Where we took off from to go on our honeymoon, and where we travelled home to begin our lives as Mr. and Mrs.

We immediately knew we wanted something different, something with more space, something with less stress... we wanted to have a home.  After months of deciding where these desires would take us, our hearts led us home.  So excited to finally share that we are moving back to Virginia Beach!  This isn't Hubby's hometown, but he lived there the last 15 years, so that counts as much as anything.  I spent my whole life there, in the same house my parents still live in.  We always knew that when the time was right, we would end up going home.  And... the time is right.

We sold my condo a few months ago to a wonderful woman who allowed us to rent back from her until Oct 1.  In the meantime, we decided to try everything possible on the job front, to ensure we'd get work back home.  My bosses refused to let me go, and went so out of their way to make sure I was to keep my job, but to work from Norfolk, rather than DC.  I can't even share with you the respect I have for my boss and superiors.  I have respect, and am eternally grateful.  My husband, being the wise, handsome man that he is, had no trouble getting an interview, second interview, and an offer to work a job that he is going to be so fantastic at.  Things have been falling just as they should have.  Right into piece.

Last weekend, we travelled the 3 hours back to Virginia Beach for some house hunting.  We were scared, frustrated, and completely overwhelmed.  But yes, we found our home.  We knew the moment we walked in the front door that this was going to the first home we purchase together.  The home we will work to make our own.  The home that has such incredible charm and homi-ness. The home where I'll decorate for every holiday.  The first home we will celebrate our own family Christmas.  It will be the home that we will someday fill with little ones running around.  It is ours, just ours.  And we cannot wait.

So honestly, this has been the reason I've been a bit M.I.A.  I'll continue to keep up here, longing to interact with you wonderful women.

Big things happening, and I couldn't be happier.

And because, what would this post be without a few pictures?

What I wore on a mini-date night with hubsy...
Anthro: Printed Boy Tee, Stripes
American Eagle Skinnies
Coach Bag
Anthro Floridian Oasis Heels
Went to dinner and walked around Shirlington for awhile (this amazing little mini-city... restaurants outside, shops, and dogs....welcomed everywhere!)
Went to this darling little Olive Oil shop... called Ah love Oil & Vinegar.  What a fabulous idea for a shop!  There were tons of different types to try, either by sipping, or dipping in the oil.

What an incredible idea for a shop!  Such a nice little treat to try out that night.

Then walked over to have some coffee outside.  Look at my handsome hubs...

One more thing... last Tuesday I had the most incredible experience.... ALL involving Anthro.  Promise to get the write-up tomorrow.  You won't want to miss it!
xoxo

  7. Thank you all so much for the well wishes! We are so excited and can't even believe it's about to happen.
modernmom- we'll be moving to Kempsville. Such a great area and we're so happy. Great Neck is such an amazing area in perfect school districts, but really we wanted more house than we could get our hands on there (financially I mean).
It's going to be quite the adjustment/adventure the next few weeks as we learn to transition. Stay tuned...
And as always, thanks ladies for the support.
