OOTD: first of many!

I work for the government, in a very old building in Southeast D.C.  Our building is about to undergo a massive renovation (woohoo!!).   We are moving into our new spaces in April, and hoping that the new bathroom includes beautiful floor-length mirrors, and lighting that makes picture taking seem easy and effortless.

In the meantime, though, I'm stuck with coutertop mirrors that only allow me to capture my top half, and crazy flourescent lighting that totally washes me out.  For now, I'll do the best I can with what I've got!

Outfit of the day yesterday:
Anthro Casino Nights Blouse
Banana Republic Pencil Skirt
Limited Black Skinny Belt

Gorgeous view of the stalls in the background, no?!

Today's outfit:
Anthro Hortulan pencil skirt
Anthro Decorative Peasant tee
Anthro necklace (purchased used off eBay)

So, either I need to find a more adequate space at work to take pictures, or I need to drag my butt out of bed a few minutes early to get Fiance to take pictures before we leave in the morning.  Considering I have a very intimate relationship with my snooze button, laying in bed until the last possible millisecond, that would be a HUGE sacrifice dear readers.  One I may just have to make.

All for the sake of fashion, right?

The quality of Anthro does deserve a certain standard when photographing their lovely designs, don't you think?

xoxo

  1. I use the self-timer & a shelf! Needs must after all. I'm sure you'll work something out in the long run but these give a good idea of what you wore. Love both your OOTDs btw, I'm a sucker for a pencil skirt, since I found Anthro and it's been winter I've sort of abandoned them so I can't wait to break out my striped, coloured, patterned skirts in the spring!

  2. I work in an office that has similar bathrooms. Countertop mirrors with a nice back view of the stalls. But I think you're making it work! Looking forward to more OOTDs!

  3. Just found your blog! :) Love it! I love both of your OOTD! I haven't worn my Hortulan Skirt yet...you've paired it nicely. I also love the Casino Nights Blouse! So sad I never got my hands on this one!

  4. Best dressed government worker I've ever seen!

My ex-boyfriend took my pictures when I first started blogging. But being my ex now I'm left to take my own. I use a tripod and a remote to take my pictures now. There really is a learning process to taking pictures of yourself. But you totally have the style part down so I'm sure beautiful photos aren't far behind!
